2. Section 10 Guide [Section 51(1)(b)]

The South African Human Rights Commission (SAHRC) will publish a Guide on how to use the Act. This Guide will be available in the Government Gazette and for public inspection at the SAHRC offices.

ii. Request Procedure

• Requests must be submitted using the prescribed form to the Information Officer via the listed contact details.
• Sufficient detail must be provided to identify the requester and the record being requested.
• The form of access and preferred method of communication must be specified.
• The requester must identify the right to be exercised or protected and explain why access is required.
• If requesting on behalf of another person, proof of capacity must be submitted.

iii. Fees

• No fee is charged for personal information requests.
• Other requesters must pay a R50 request fee upon notice by the Information Officer.
• Requesters may challenge this fee in court.
• If access is granted, additional fees for search, reproduction, or preparation may apply.

5. Additional Information [Section 51(1)(f)]

No additional regulations have been prescribed by the Minister of Justice and Constitutional Development at this time.

6. Availability of This Manual [Section 51(3)]

This manual is available for inspection at the offices of Holtzhausen Financial Services (Pty) Ltd free of charge. It is also available at the SAHRC and published in the Government Gazette.
